We are thrilled to invite you to an Inspired Minds knitting event at a new location and we hope you are able to join us! Debbie will be hosting a three-night break at the Lochside House Hotel in New Cumnock, which is set on the banks of Loch of the Lowes in Ayrshire, Scotland.

 

 

Lochside House Hotel is the perfect place to relax and craft away the hours while you immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings of this modern, boutique hotel. Nestled beside the loch with the Afton Hills as a backdrop and with wrap-around terraces and landscaped gardens to explore, the incredible views of the surrounding Ayrshire countryside are sure to inspire creative minds.

 

Deposit

 

We are taking a deposit of £250 for whichever room you choose.

 

Once you have secured your place, we will send you our bank details to finalise payment. Please make full payment before 1st August 2024 . For full prices please see the Pricing tab (above if you are on a PC or at the bottom of the page on a mobile device). The deposit is non-refundable unless we can fill your place from our waiting list. Any rooms not paid in full by the payment deadline on the 1st August 2024 will be re-advertised for sale unless you have contacted us.

Project
A project yarn pack will be available for you to work through during the holiday. In the past, most workshop participants do choose to work on the project, but it is not compulsory. Debbie is more than happy if you would prefer to bring your own WIP and work on that instead.

The Workshops 
Debbie will hold four scheduled workshops during the holiday, beginning on the first evening with an introduction to the project while enjoying a complimentary drink of your choice from the bar. The first workshop will then begin on the following morning.

Debbie has a long history of teaching knitting and relishes the opportunity to pass on new skills to eager learners. So, as well as brushing up on existing skills, you may learn a new technique too! Debbie will design a small project for you to work on over the course of the workshop and will be on hand to guide you through all the techniques.

 

The Spa
If you fancy some pampering then the onsite spa at Lochside is available to book. ESPA therapists combine traditional holistic therapies with modern day techniques and the purest natural ingredients to create truly unique treatments for you to treat yourself to.

Afternoon Tea
Indulge in a delicious Afternoon Tea while admiring the sweeping views of the Ayrshire countryside in the Afton Restaurant at Lochside House Hotel. This can be pre-booked before your visit as an extra treat to enjoy at the hotel during your stay.

 

Other things to do and places of interest
During your stay there will be time to explore the local surroundings at your leisure. Dumfries House is just a short distance away and offers guided tours of the house which is set in 2000 acres of rural countryside. Or you could nip over to The Baird in Cumnock which houses a museum and has a continually changing programme of contemporary art exhibitions. Alternatively, you might prefer to stay at the hotel and soak up the ambience while you relax with your knitting and new found friends.

Travel
Lochside House Hotel is located just under sixty miles south of Glasgow and is easily accessible by road, train, air and bus. New Cumnock is the closest railway station and is just a short taxi ride from the hotel, booking is recommended by the hotel. All vehicles can be parked in the on-site car park in front of the venue.
